SNES9X does not run on windows 8

Im not exactly new to emulators but the last time i did anything with them was on windows xp and i was never a wizard with a computer. Anyway i downloaded winzip to run snes9x and i try to open it and it only opens the folder and there isnt a run file in any folders. I tried downloading bsnes and it also happens with bsnes. Any help would be greatly appreciated

when you download it to windows 8 look in the folder you downloaded it too (probably downloads) about 8-12 files down there's one file that says in light grey print at the far right "Application" click on the snes icon on that line and click run. it will prompt you to extract all files that the application will rely on.. allow this.. after it's extracted install it.. then you will have a sound problem with your games fiddle with sound options and you will fix the problem.. don't bother downloading directX or any of that, the sound problem is because of a setting inside the emulator itself. of course this only works on a computer idk if your useing a cellphone I don't know the answer to that one. of course you still hafto download a game and load it onto the emulator, takes some time to figure out, for me, I seem to spend countless hours on tech problems to get something working, and then I get board of everything I do.. best just to watch movies.

You might need to install DirectX from Microsoft's website. That's what I had to do and it worked for me.
