Hello!
I'm new to SNES9x, and I just installed it and loaded Super Mario World. I noticed that the title screen had an unusual black background. I continued on to play the game, and the opening "sign" screen and map screen also seemed to be missing data. I used two different ROM files and both had the same issues. I loaded the ROMS in ZSNES and they worked fine. Could someone assist me in correcting the issue? I'll offer whatever information is necessary.
I've attached screenshots for reference.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I'm using version 1.53 in Windows 7 64-bit.

Re: Super Mario World Missing Background
I don't mean to bump! But I just tested Super Mario All Stars and saw the same issues - the opening title screen and the title screen for SMB 3 all had missing backgrounds. I've attached another screenshot for reference.
Again, thanks in advance!

Re: Super Mario World Missing Background
most likely you may have disabled one (or more) of the background layers or even transparency... I know there's a button to reset them all back to on.

Unofficial Test Monkey For:
* Snes9X GX (Wii)
* Snes9X EX (Android)
* Snes9X 64-bits (PC/Mac)

Looks like disabled transparency effects (Display Settings->Transparency Effects).

Re: Super Mario World Missing Background
I'm having the same problem, but on my physical SNES console
Really though, black background instead of blue on the main menu. Most levels are missing a background layer. Unfortunately I don't think we can help each other
