Roms play and work fine unless I set a usb controller. When "Use joystick" is checked I can configure the controller, but it won't roms anymore. I'm using snes9xpress which claims it's trying to run this when it fails:

snes9x -joydev1 /dev/input/js0 -joymap1 2 1 5 4 6 7 0 9 "/home/me/roms/Aero Fighters.smc"
snes9x returned error code 1

controller: microsoft sidewinder (works with other emus)
OS: ubuntu 9.10 x64

You might want to check out BearOso's snes9x-gtk instead.

What operating system are you using? 32 or 64bit? Version of Snes9x? Is the text at the bottom of the window white when you load the game?

Almost all of command line options have been changed in 1.52.
