More on the Windows Port
Just thought you'd like to know that my master plan worked - I threatened to
work on the Windows port and that kick started Jerremy to work on it!

But it gets better (if you're interested in the Windows port), I'm working on
the port as well. Jerremy made the original mistake of trying to develop the DirectSound code on NT, for all other developers out there, DON'T BOTHER!

I'm busily fixing the sound code, added sync-sound mode and 3DFX support. Also trying to track down why you can't control some games on the Windows port and why we can get the ZSNES SuperFX asm code linking in correctly.

Expect a release from Jerremy first, followed by another release including my stuff and few days later...

The bad news
Well, it looks like I am not going to make it tonight, I was recompiling with the v1.19 code, everything was going perfect until...... until I looked at the DirectX render code... Then I looked at the MAME32 DirectX render code, and thought, hey it does that a lot nicer... So I'm currently rewriting the DirectX render code...

The good news
I ofcourse wouldn't do this if there wasn't a good news part for this, the good news is that there will be a small speed increase on some computers =) And that it is now a lot easier for me to add 8-bit rendering to the windows port... Which ofcourse is what I'm going to do next...

Windows port update
I've ported v1.19a to Windows and will probably release an updated version tonight, it will not have any new functionality except all thew new goodies v1.19a has to offer... It will NOT have 3dfx support !
This will be added in later builds of the Windows port !

1.19 Update
The new version of Snes9x seems stable again; just the boring stuff to do like update the README file and so on, so expect a Linux port release in the next day or so.

The DOS port will no doubt follow just as soon as I send the source code to Tele' and he has time to compile up and release a new version.

I might try and compile up and release the Windows port if Jerremy is busy, but can't do that until I finish sorting out my notebook computer after upgrading my machine to Linux SuSE 6.0 - another reason why I haven't been replying to e-mails lately.

Windows port delays
Well, a lot of you are wondering why there's still no updated Windows port. This is because I am working hard on Snes9x.COM, bug fixing the current scripts and starting on a Game Library script. In this Library you will be able to find cheats / hints / tips and other information about Snes games. After I've finished this Library I'll continue my work on the Windows port. I may even work on the Windows port in between, but I won't promise anything.
