Disabling controllers does not "unplug" them

If I disable the second controller, SNES9X still believes it is plugged in. The best way to see this is in "Tiny Toon Adventures - Wacky Sports Challenge". After you select "new game", you'll shortly find yourself on a character select screen. The game decides how many players are in by how many controllers are plugged into the console. As you plug or unplug controllers, the game will change the number of players in real-time while on this character select screen. As it is, this means that it is impossible to run this game with only one player, unless I'm missing something.

Another side-effect to this is with the multi-tap, as this game is compatible and may be played with up to four players. Enable the multitap, then disable it. Although the third player's icon will disappear, as is intended, the fourth player's icon will remain.

If this was already known and already being worked on, I'm sorry.

What version of Snes9x do you observe this in? And which port, as well?

You can simply press start after pressing A on player 1.

OV2: Thanks. That's a good workaround. I only ever play the game 2-player, but it may help others.

Camo_Yoshi: I'm sorry about that. The issue occurs in 1.53 32-bit on Windows XP and the most recent test build (the August 13th one, also XP and 32-bit). I think it may happen in 1.52 as well, but I can't recall if I tested it well.
