I need help

I am new to this I downloaded 9X ver 1.53 from this site went to the list of ROM sites and downloaded 2 roms Mortal Combat and SUper Mario All stars. I am running a HP computer in 64bit mode w 8G ram and windows Vista and a terabyte of blank space on my hard drive. I am trying to set this up so my 5yo grandson can play video games when he comes over to visit Grandma. I do not know what I am doing wrong---Is there a site with any Mario bros ROMS that will work with the 1.53 emulator?

Please do NOT ask for ROMs here. it is against the rules. However, if you're trying to run the NES game called Mario Bros. it won't work anyway since Snes9X only runs SNES ROMs.

while you're at it though, if that MC:FR ROM loads with the red text on startup, get a copy of NSRT (see sig) and fix it.
