strange issue when playing Donkey Kong Country

Snes9x exhibits a strange behavior when it loads Donkey Kong Country. As you can see in the picture, the Nintendo logo stretches to twice the size of the virtual screen:
I have the "Stretch Image" option disabled, and no other game does this. Anyone know why this is happening?
