Can't start/use SNES9x

I just downloaded the emulator because I heard this one is the only one that plays Super Mario rpg.

I can't use the emulator though.

When I open the file it says "failed to initialize currently selected display output. try switching to a different output method in the display settings."

What do I do now?

So I click ok (no other option) and I get this "unable to initialize XAudio2. You will not be able to hear any sound effects or music while playing. It is usually cause by not having a recent DirectX release installed."

Somebody please tell me what to do to get the emulator working.

Also, could you please post the following information:

- Your graphics card
- Your sound card
- Your operating system

This information will help determine why you are having this issue. Thanks!

You may also want to play around in the options and display menus to see if something there could fix it. You may have to downgrade your video output options to meet your running conditions.
