Snes9xGX on Wii won't recognize button A!

Hi there,
I have just installed Snes9xGX on my Wii and it loads nicely, unless by the weird fact that it won't recognize the A button. I mean, not the physical button, but the A button function. When I change the controller settings, swapping positions, whenever the A button is defined it won't work. It happens both with all my wiimotes as with my classic controllers. Does anyone here have any clue on it? Is it solvable by editing the settings.xml? How?
