so i just found out the hard way that loading a state also loads the sram data from when the state was taken by accidentally loading a state that i made and forgot about months ago, and as a result lost all my progress in the game from that point. i know the best way to deal with this is through backups sure but i didnt know it worked like this until just now.

the point is: is there any way to recover sram data thats been overwritten? i highly doubt it but i might as well ask

Hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure this is a hard lesson learned. I've done it too, so I feel your pain for sure.

ah well, ill just have ti memorise my keyboard shortcuts better from now on

You could check if there is a ROMNAME.oops snapshot in your saves folder, and try loading this one.
