I can't map my joypad on snes9x

I have an Ãpega bluetooth joypad that I use to play games on other emulators and on my cellphone but, for some reason I can't seems to map the buttons on this emulator, I press on button on the controller and the map go nuts, and usually puts some randon keyboard button instead like "alt " or "home" or something like that, anyone has any idea why? Thanks for the help.
