External Controller USB

Is there any way to connect some kind of external controller to play on Snes9x for Windows?
I digged everywhere and didn't find anything about it.
On my iPhone I could bluetooth pair my Wii Pro Controller, but on Windows can't even map it through USB. In a nutschell, there's no option to "Search for connected controllers" or something.
I've done everything I could to mirror my iPhone to my TV or PC but no success, so I'm trying to play games directly from Snes9x for Windows. No way of playing using my keyboard at all.
