Help getting previous save from .srm files on OSX

Post by g.stern »

I just got back from a trip overseas and decided to bring along my laptop and slog my way through Chrono Trigger. On the flight back, snes9x crashed and when I reopened it, my save states in-game were from 8 hours previous. I've tried using the help button to understand how save files are created, moved around the SRAMS folder, and think I know which .srm file is the one I need to open, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the system to read a specific .srm. Seems like every time I open the game it overwrites the file. I have several srm's in a folder and want to try a few of them to see what happens. Is there a way to do this? Is there only one master .srm file that the program uses per game? Am I screwed?

Please help. I really don't want to play through multiple hours all over again :/

p.s. I did try to use the .oops file as a .frz like "help" says, but it didn't work.

Thanks,
Gabe
