Chrono Trigger: Items cannot be used in battle after Blackbird

hello, I'm using a Chrono Trigger ROM on snes9x and after the blackbird sequence no party member can use items in battle, the menu shows empty slots. Outside of battle, all items show up properly.

Any ideas? I'm already pretty far along, but I do have a save state from Mt. Woe I could play forward from to see if the problem persists...

When you load the ROM, do you get a checksum error? Often with issues like this, it's due to a bad dump or corrupt ROM image.

This was fixed. It turned out that every character's items were tabbed so far down you couldn't see the items anymore. Even on characters who weren't on the Blackbird. Very strange, but I tabbed all the way up and there they were!
