No hand appearing on Wii..please help

I just recently installed Snes9x Version 4.3.1. The emulator boots up fine however when i try to select a folder to access a rom my Wii hand does not appear. I dont have any trouble with the hand appearing at any other time but just on the Snes9x. Im stuck and dont know what to do.
One other question concerning rom placement that may sound silly but i just wanted to make sure im doing this correctly. Im loading through my sd card and in the rom folder there are several folders A-roms B-roms ect. I placed my roms by title in these folders. IS that the correct way to place them. may sound silly but thank you.
