You can install XAudio2 via the link provided in the error message, or you can try the most recent testbuild, where switching to directsound should work again.

Why are you trying to compile 1.53? The compile process has been simplified for newer versions considerably. The precompiled versions of png and zlib were for later versions of snes9x. Only if you play a game that supports more than one joypad, for example bomberman multiplayer. And you also need to select "use super multitap" under input for more than two controllers.

Just to clarify: the additional joypads represent the joypads of the SNES, so joypad #3 would be a third joypad that is connected via the multitab to the second controller port of the SNES.

If the buttons work in input config they should also work in the emulator. Have you correctly configured them for "Joypad #1" and enabled it?

Folder configuration is in "Emulation->Settings". Usually these are relative to the snes9x folder, so there should be no need to change them. The recent games menu stores absolute paths to the last few opened roms, so if those were moved it will obviously no longer find them. You'll need t...

I'm not sure what gsync would give you in s9x, since it has a fixed framerate.
Anyway, if you select the same fullscreen resolution as your desktop resolution you shouldn't see any difference between emulated and regular fullscreen. Newer s9x versions also have an integer scaling option.

I'd try running it from your internal harddrive, or at least set the savestate directory to a folder there, and try that.
