Re: Sound issues + Crash

Let me get the "dumb" question out of the way: Are you using the newest version of Snes9x? After answering that, what kind of information is displayed about the ROMs you are loading? Improperly dumped ROMs can cause all kinds of issues. Saves being corrupt, various things in game not worki...

Re: How to Remove all traces of snes9x?

That icon isn't related to Snes9x at all that I know of. I have never seen it in conjunction with it, at least not the Windows port. I would suggest following the instructions outlined here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/950505/when-you-run-an--exe-file-on-a-windows-xp--windows-vista-or-w...

Re: Porting to new platform

To be quite honest, I don't know if anyone has ever asked to port. They certainly don't ask me, and I don't see why they would. I am merely the forum admin, I do not control the site or the emulator. I've moved your topic to the public dev forum, I imagine the guys still working on Snes9x will know ...

Re: Snes9x for Windows unable to make use of mapped drives?

Hrm. Yeah, doesn't do that for me at all. File Explorer on the left, Snes9x dialog on the right:

Not sure it makes a dif but I'm running Win 10 64 bit, 1709 update. I debated using the 64 bit Snes9x but I'm not sure if there's much of a benefit really.

Snes9x for Windows unable to make use of mapped drives?

Alright, so with the advent of 1.55 and trying to help someone with an issue, I snagged the 32 bit 1.55 and set it up. First thing I note is that when I go to load a ROM, the dialog sees my C:\ drive, but not the other mapped drives I have to my NAS. Now granted, this is a minor issue, I merely type...

Re: Dual Monitor Question..

Thanks. I gave it a shot, but it didn't work unfortunately. I guess I'm the only one who would like this feature :) FWIW, I just set Snes9x up the way OV2 mentions and it worked fine for me. I mapped my controller, made sure the 2 settings mentioned were done, loaded a ROM and then click off the em...

Re: Dual Monitor Question..

Due to Snes9x losing focus when you do your work, it seems unlikely. There would need to be a way for the emulator to continue to accept input from the gamepad and such while not having focus to make that work.

None of the old forums are active or in use. As far as I know they aren't even on the server anymore. We moved to phpBB and that's been that. What are you looking for, exactly?

Re: Reconnect controller?

I'm thinking this is either a Windows thing, or an API thing, because it happens with a lot of other emulators as well. The only solution I know of is to use the keyboard to save a state, close the emulator then re-open it and load the state.

Re: Can't play games with 360 controller

So presumably the controller is working in Windows itself, since Snes9x responds and allows you to map controls. Do you have this problem with all games, or just one? As for loading on Super Metroid, did it work before, or has it never loaded from a save properly?

Re: Snes9X cannot run at macOS Sierra ?! Whats going?!

Your security preference allow installation of only apps from the App Store and identified developers.
That's key info right there that says you need to change your security preferences. That said, it appears you resolved the issue in a different way, so it may not be necessary now.

Re: I think I found a possible virus!

It is not a virus. Having ".Win32" is not an instant identifier for viruses. It's just being used here to identify that the code is 32 bit/that it's a 32 bit program.

Re: Configuring a ps3 pad with android box

Anything that uses plain old BlueTooth will work. I bought a SteelSeries Free for playing emulators on my android devices, but I got mine for $25 new, seems they've shot up in price, costs around $80 on Amazon now. There are tons of other controller makers out there though, $80 is ridiculous for the...

Re: Configuring a ps3 pad with android box

Last I knew the only way to do that is to shell out for this ones guys driver app. No one else has bothered to reverse the system the PS3 and controllers use and make it available for android that I know of.

I'd suggest downloading the latest Snes9x and trying that. You're using an older version which may have bugs/issues/etc. Always use the latest version before posting about issues.

Re: Snes9x 1.53 crashing everytime i try to play a certain g

Did this ROM work in prior versions? My first guess would be a corrupt ROM. Normally that wouldn't crash the emulator, but I s'pose it's possible.
