I FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!!!!

I'm super happy right now. I had given up on this ROM but I wanted to give it another shot. While looking at some of my configurations, I observed that under my "Config" on my toolbar and under "Automatic Fire..." that my start button was programmed to toggle automatic firing or ...

Another vantage point:

Whenever I, in game, came across the map upload machine for a certain area and use it, it takes me directly to the map/status screen and I cannot get out of it.

Uh.. while you're in the map screen: 1) can you switch screens with L/R? 2) does the music play normally? 3) is the game froze? 1. Yes 2. yes 3. It doesn't appear to be. perhaps it's a dodgy key that you set START to? try mapping the start button to some other key. Tried it. And just now retried it...

When I'm in game, I press start to go to my map and status screens. But when I want to return to gameplay (which would be done by pressing start) I can't.

I've digressed. I used a "Super Metroid (U)", that is, one without the [!], and STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!!! WHAT THE CRAP! I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! NOTHING WORKS!!! I mean, I'm not ignorant (fairly smart I must say) so, even though I don't have an extensive knowledge of SNES9X, I haven't m...

not possible. that is against the rules.

Still working on it...

Super Metroid (JU) [!].smc I think that right there is your problem. A long long time ago, when Jerremy and Gary were still actively coding Snes9x, I had a bad checksum copy of Super Metroid. I forget what it affected, but at some point the reason for the bad checksum went from something ignorable ...

Need more consults!!!

If I could ask some other experts to check this problem out as well (just to get some fresh eyes on the problem). I feel like the current people (no offense) may (possibly) be scraping the bottom of the bucket of their know how. Thank you.

Make sure you did not change the default controller config of Super Metriod (the config in-game, not necessarily the emu's button mapping). Returned in-game config to default and did not fix. Also tried starting a new in-game file without touching the in-game config at all and that didn't work eith...

Camo_Yoshi wrote:Strange... what's the color of all the text at the bottom of the screen when you load the ROM?
White.

I've also tried some different downloads and have the same problem each time. Some of those were yellow texts.

Not resolved yet...

I'm sorry - a miscommunication. I can pause emulation fine. When I go to my map and status screens by pressing start...THAT'S when I can't return to gameplay.

Cannot unpause Super Metroid

I downloaded a "Super Metroid (JU) [!].smc". Once I get through the entire opening (after the fight with Ripley, standing on my ship) I cannot unpause the game after I have paused it. This is the only problem I can see, though. By the way, I have a mac: Using SNES9x version 1.51 (85). Than...
