Re: Keyboard problem with Snes9x on Dell Inspiron - Windows
Are you using a USB keyboard? That's what it sounds like to me, because I used to have this problem. USB keyboards tend to have issues with lag input. I'd recommend switching it out with either a keyboard with a classic PS/2 connection (those work the best) or a wireless keyboard. USB keyboards are ...

Re: snes shut's down after short period
Oh, and I was going to add this to my post, but since I can't edit them, I'll have to double-post.
SNES9X will not work if you don't have DirectX installed. So in case you don't have it, be sure to download it. (It's free software.)

Re: snes shut's down after short period
Are you using the 64-bit version of SNES9X?
If so, then that might be the problem. It's very buggy and is nigh-unusable.
Try the 32-bit version and see if it works better.

Man, what a load.
Are there any emulators that don't do this?

SNES9X breaks up my recordings.
I just found out that my emulator breaks up my recordings roughly every 15 minutes. Is there a way to make it not do this?

Re: Terrible sound skipping
Why would you use 1.4.16? That's way obsolete.

Re: How do you save settings or make them default?
That's...weird. :? Whenever I change my settings in SNES9X, they remain permanent. Besides going into the emulator itself, there's another way you can change it. Go into the folder where you have the SNES9X files installed. Double-click (or right-click) the snes9x.conf file and open it with Notepad....

Re: SNES9X not detecting codecs.
Okay, after some playing around, I learned a few things. 1) For some reason, only the 32-bit version of this emulator is detecting those codecs. The 64-bit version isn't detecting them at all. 2) Only FFDShow is recording properly. When I try using x264, it desyncs. 3) When I try to record higher th...

You might need to install DirectX from Microsoft's website. That's what I had to do and it worked for me.

SNES9X not detecting codecs.
I have two free codecs on my computer: FFDShow and x264 VfW.
When I try to record an AVI using SNES9X, neither of these codecs are showing up in the list of codec options.
Why is this happening?
Is there a way I can fix this?
