Re: it seems like...

I am not sure why 1.53 wouldn't support a modern game pad on Windows, but I do know that isn't the latest Snes9x build. 1.62.3 is. What is the brand/model game pad you're using, and what version of Windows?

An interesting bit of info and mystery regarding SNES emulation

So I noted the other day that Youtuber Modern Vintage Gamer had put up a video about a SNES emulator named Silhouette , supposedly a secret development of Nintendo, or so his video title suggests. I assumed it was just the name of whatever they used for the SNES Classic and skipped watching it. Toda...

Snes9x contributor and author of bsnes, Higan, and many other projects, Byuu/Near, has died

According to this post on Reddit , he was bullied by things that call themselves humans on a forum known for being far worse than 4chan and the like. I never knew them personally, only that they made some major contributions to Snes9x and did a lot of amazing stuff for and with emulation (among othe...

Might help if you provide a screen shot of where you're stuck, and some details such as what you were doing before getting stuck, etc.

Hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure this is a hard lesson learned. I've done it too, so I feel your pain for sure.

Re: missing blocks in Super Mario World game

there are blocks that are not there, instead just a dotted square appears. This is not an error in the game or emulator, this is part of the game. There are things called Switch Palaces in the game where when you reach the end, you'll be able to hit a giant switch that turns these into solid blocks...

Re: SNES9X v1.60 Causing Computer to Reboot

Sounds an awful lot like what happens when the GPU drivers crash and recover, then finally fail to recover and cause a reboot. Had it happen on many different systems. Check the Windows Error logs next time it happens and I am 95% sure you'll see entries in there about the drivers crashing/recoverin...

Re: What exactly is that 'stbios.bin' bios file?

A quick Google of "stbios.bin" netted me this: https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/c ... bios_help/

"STBIOS.bin is just the Sufami Turbo rom uncompressed and renamed (Sufami Turbo (Japan).sfc from no-intro rom set)."

Re: Chrono Trigger: Items cannot be used in battle after Blackbird

When you load the ROM, do you get a checksum error? Often with issues like this, it's due to a bad dump or corrupt ROM image.

Re: Controller for use with Android?

Are there any Android compatible game controllers? If they're bluetooth, then they'll be compatible. The Xbox One controllers will work, a few of the latest Sony Playstaion controllers will, and there are others by brands like SteelSeries and 8BITDO. This Android Authority article is brief but name...

1) Moved this to Gaming Q&A since that's more appropriate for the question than the General sub-forum.
2) Have you tried using a search engine like Google for cheat codes and such yet?

Re: Why does framerate randomly drop every minute or so?

I don't have the strongest laptop. But this is an SNES emulator and these games are old. The thing is, how old the SNES and games are is irrelevant. As the devs working on Snes9x continue to improve it and make it more accurate, it requires more and more CPU power to emulate at full speed. A good s...

Re: Sound Issue On SNES9X

I specifically asked if anyone is having issues with it going to Mono instead of Stereo. As said in the last sentence. You need to check your attitude. You posted asking about some nebulous "bug" first, mentioned an issue with "not responding" (presumably Snes9x) and then went o...

Re: Sound Issue On SNES9X

1: It helps to post to the correct forum. I have moved the topic.
2: You're going to need to be more descriptive than "the sound bug."
3: Any info on when this happened, how it happened, etc. would probably help a bit.
