Re: SNES 9X and Dolby

Sorry about that, it seems like the audio is created from the libretro library, so you should look into that instead. This lib is used in other SNES emulation projects so if you are using a different emulator emulating the SNES, it is probably using this and should have similar behavior across emus ...

Re: starting up

It sounds like you are missing the DX9 update (this is still needed on newer Windows systems that hasn't installed the DX9 update). Google "DX9 Update" for what you are looking for. It will contain the base required XAudio resource for XP and later Windows version (later Windows versions w...

Re: Very low sound on all games

It's not clear what could be the problem, but consider toggling on/off Loudness Equalization for your sound card in Windows (it's considered an Enhancement) and/or toggling on/off enable signal/audio enhancements. You may also need to configure your speakers for as Stereo should be the default (conf...

Re: Sudden Audio Crackling?

If it is a recent issue, there is likely something your system is causing it happen. It could be an issue with resource contention (eg. background apps interfering with audio output). This assumes that you aren't changing any settings. Ideally, you want to run the emulator's sound frequency value at...

Re: SNES 9X and Dolby

I don't know the exact answer, but if you are not sure, you should get someone to try it. SPC emulation comes from blargg's SPC core which you may want to research in other SNES emulators using it for a more clear answer. AFAIK, when it was implemented, it was the "most accurate SPC emulation&q...

Chances are, you have keys double bound or a background app like a keyboard/gamepad mapper is affecting you. Close all unneeded background apps or make sure to your keys are not double mapped.

Well, the problem with the original poster's problem is that "Tin Star" is not a Super Scope game. In fact, it is a SNES mouse game. The whole NSRT header thing works ONLY if the game supports/requires the correct special device for that system. My suggestion is that you post what game tha...

So.. is this still an issue? Some games exhibit it, and it's simply normal behavior sometimes. It is hard for some people to imagine especially if they have not played the original cart themselves. Should I enable something like the Super FX? Games don't "work" the way you think it does. ...

You shouldn't need to post the same thing in two different threads. Try the Snes9x's Mac Ports Help section for what you need to know about remapping keys on the keyboard.

I get the feeling this is covered in Snes9x's Mac Ports Help section. You should find out how to map the controller buttons keys on your keyboard.

The operation of just using cheats will cause dsyncs (as in, if one side doesn't know what the other is doing, desyncs tend to happen)... you would be better served creating an IPS patch or a hardpatched ROM with the cheats enabled.

There's a hack/patch for that, but that isn't a perfect solution (there are known bugs in it). Go to RHDN to find it, but don't look for Snes9x to provide improved support (or fixes) for this hack.

You talk about "rolling stuff back" and "reversion" -- I think you skimmed too quickly and are confused about what I said. I was merely wondering out loud if the old core would ever be left "as an option" in the future. The answer is no, which I 100% agree is the best ...

Are these problems with the new sound core known / under consideration, or is this kind of noise considered acceptable? Personally, I think you're a spammer/bot/idiot/kid mike, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. The Snes9x license prohibits anyone from using Snes9x's code to produce a port to make a profit unless the developers give consent or permission . If the author of that port didn't get consent, then there are pr...
