Add An Option to Render a Different Default Color?
When all layers are disabled in Snes9x, the screen is filled with black pixels. In defunct software like ZSNES, this color was blue, which made ZSNES useful for ripping sprites without needing various other programs to assist. Would it be possible to add a feature to change what color is rendered by default, perhaps from a limited number of options like magenta, blue, cyan, green? I get that it's black for accuracy, so the option to change the default render color would be specifically to make sprite-ripping much easier when working entirely within Snes9x.

a second request for this was posted in the bug reports forum.

For example, is there a way to change this to pink?
Is it an emulator that can do it?

Re: Add An Option to Render a Different Default Color?
Is there anyone I could reach out to who might know how to implement this feature? I'm not confident enough in my own ability to modify the source code. I'd still really appreciate if this feature would come to Snes9x, and I'm certain there are many others who feel the same. Thanks.

I posted about this in the other thread, and I'd like to offer my support here as well.

Bump, just in case anyone is interested. There's a rogue snes9x branch that implemented this much needed feature. Just press Shift+1 to cycle between background colors.

Hopefully the team can implement this on the main snes9x version.
