I have been a Nintendo fan for years, and I decided to try to play a rom hack on my computer. I downloaded "Kaizo Kindergarten" By pangaeapanga, but for some reason, it doesn't work. It says bad checksum, and then goes into a black screen. The original mario world works, but not this one. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

sounds like you tried to patch a headered rom when the patch requires an unheadered one (or vice versa).

When I try to download any rom hack on my computer, it shows up as a .bps file. I found something that can change the rom to headered or unheadered, but it doesn't recognize the .bps file. I think that is what is happening with the emulator too. Any info so I can fix? Thanks!

What you downloaded is the patch file, this is how most hacks are provided. You either need to find the correct rom file and patch it, or try to find a prepatched rom.

How do you patch the rom?
