Audio issue while minimized (v1.54.1 Windows)

While minimized the audio becomes all crackly, if I instead place the program in the background/out of focus than everything is just as if it was still in focus/good sounding. I tried changing Windows to treat background programs with the same priority as foreground programs but the issue with minimizing Snes9x persists.

XAudio2, 32Khz playback, 31900Hz input rate, integrated audio system.

try disabling your internet connection while running snes9x.
otherwise install or upgrade your CPU to a faster one, which also affects sound.

edit: I noticed in your specs you have an Intel i7 920 @ 2.66GHZ CPU. Put in a faster i7 processor like at least an i7-950 (3.0ghz) or i7-960 (3.2ghz)

It's a problem with s9x trying to restore the d3d context all the time, but it can't since it is minimized. It should not happen if you switch to ogl or ddraw. I'll try to fix it for the next version.

Noted for in case you do not manage to get a fix in place for the next version.

Awesome stuff, I can confirm this is fixed in the newly released v1.55. Should the pinned topic be updated to mention v1.55's release (it currently mentions v1.53)?
