SNES9X has stopped working (crash)

For some odd reason I have an issue of SNES9X randomly crashing. I have noticed the largest times are anytime a USB device is plugged in or disconnected. It crashes the entire emulator. I was wondering if anyone had heard of this issue before if so, is there a fix? If not, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?
