Snes9x.com

Hello! I recently installed Snes9x on my Wii and I bought a TTX Tech controller, which plugs into the Wiimote, and the D-pad doesn't work! I tried all the settings and, of course, googled it but I can't find any solutions. I'm thinking about returning the controller and buying an OEM SNES controller with an adapter for the Wii but I'd at least like to make sure there isn't some sort of software issue I need to sort out first.
