Sound not Working?

I just got the Snes9X, and everything was working perfectly when I first got it, but recently, the sound seems to not be there. I've played around with the sound settings and muting-unmuting, but that didn't seem to work as well. So far, I haven't gotten an error message saying that I have a missing drive/executable.
ROMs will play normally. Then, it'll lag TREMENDOUSLY (like, super slow-mo), in which I save the emulator then close it. After running the game again, the lag will be gone, but so is the sound. This has happened to EVERY single ROM that I've gotten, if it lags. No game has ever returned sound with this issue.
