Game crashes when attempting to load or save a file

I am using snes9xgGX on wii, and it was working fine until one of my games crashed while I tried to save a snapshot.
Now, whenever I try to load or save a game it immediately redirects back to the wii menu. Other than this specific game, everything else works.
Assuming there is some corruption in the file, is there anything to do to fix it? Or is there any other likely reason?
