I've tried Chou Aniki - Bakuretsu Rantouden (J) and black screen,
in v1.53 and snes9x_testbuild_25062014.
It works in Bsnes and Zsnes.

I had the same issue on Snes9X on the Wii. Weirdly RetroArch on the Wii which uses a Snes9X core, works without issue.
