Save State Between Windows and Android

Hello, i am using Snes9X 1.53 64 bit on windows, and wish to use the save states/save games on Android, when i installed the EX+, i saw it says the save states are compatible, however, the load state option is grayed out, i'm using dropbox with foldersync to sync the files back and forth.
I saw in another topic i would need to rename the files, is there a way to bypass that? making the pc open the saves from android or vice versa? the device is a LG G3 if it matters...
