Hi Forum,
So Ive been using snes9x sense 2019, its really good.
but one thing thats been nagging at me is that i can only enter 4 cheat codes that look similar to this: 7FF8001E
Whats happening is i enter 4 cheat codes like that, then the add button goes grey and i cant add anymore codes.
I think this is a bug, if there is a fix to this please post solutions.
The game im trying to use them in is Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars.
Im getting the codes from here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/snes/5887 ... faqs/26315
And lastly, the codes are pro action replay.
Snes9x version: 1.60
os: Windows
Lots of thanks,
RedYoshi
Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
Re: Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
I can't reproduce this. Which 5 codes are you trying to enter exactly?
Re: Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
Level 30 codes, and stat codes.
Re: Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
No issue here:
You could also simply use the "search database" button.

Re: Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
Having the same issue on Windows 11, using build snes9x-1.62.3-win64.
On the "Cheat Entry and Editor" window, I have 5 codes. The Add and Update buttons are grayed out, even if I try to copy/pasta codes like I did for the others.
Workaround: If I click on an existing code and change it, the Add button becomes active again. Once that is added, I can change the data to reflect the code I want to add.
It seems like weird behavior, almost like pasting in info isn't being picked up to activate the Add button.
Codes I'm using have a : not an = from this page: https://gamehacking.org/game/44854
(Sorry for bumping an old thread.)

Re: Limited Cheat Codes (Bug?)
Some of the issues might be due to the handling of a colon. If a code has a colon in it, that appears to be considered a bad code, and the buttons don't light up. As soon as I remove the colon, I can add it. A partial fix might be to convert the colons into equal signs if that's what the engine requires.
Examples of colons in codes: https://gamehacking.org/game/43708
