hello all,

on SNES9x version 1.53, Brawl Brothers the screen is all messed up, whereas it works fine in SNES9x 1.43, so i wondered if there is any way to resolve it on the new version?

thanks to everyone

Is the ROM verified good? (White text appears at the bottom of the screen when the game loads)

what relevance is that if the same rom works on snes9x 1.43? and also zsnes all versions i've tried

also it works on snes9x 1.52 fix4, the only one that doesn't run it properly is snes9x 1.53

the relevance is that if the ROM is bad, it might no longer work because it depended on a bug in the emulation core which was fixed in 1.53.

there are plenty of hacks that depend on emulation flaws and wouldn't actually work on a real SNES (and don't work in newer versions of many emulators, either).

that's just wild speculation, really you don't know why it doesn't work in the new version

the guy just sat there and told you reasons why the game no longer works as it should now.

fwiw you didn't even answer Camo's question if the ROM load text is white, yellow, or some other color. I strongly doubt it's white, since I've never heard of Brawl Brothers, sounds like some homebrew game or a new game based off an existing one...

Talking like that could very well get you banned; hopefully you aren't intending to be harsh.

It's probably a problem with the new IRQ handling - we'll look into it.

Camo knows his material, I'd recommend heeding his words if I were you.

Ok. I'm bumping this because I'm also having some problem with the Japanese version of this game (Rushing Beat Ran: Fukusei Toshi) running on snes9x 1.53 both 32- and 64-bit version. To describe the problem, the screen flashes every second during the entire gameplay. This game is verified good (white text) and runs so well on snes9x v1.51.

Download the latest test build 13.08.2012 from here:
http://www.s9x-w32.de/dl/testbuilds/

The IRQ timing that makes certain games flicker is fixed (check in the change log).
Thank you OV2.
