Hi all.
I'm using Snes9x 1.5.3 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3, on a late 2011 Mac Mini i7 2.7GHz, so plenty fast for Snes9x.
I noticed that when I leave the frame skip to "auto", sometimes the sound will jump, kind of like missing a note.
So I tried setting frame skip to "0" and noticed something weird with the frame rate: The frame rate then varies between 57--58 FPS, but under "FPS" there is a small "60/60" that appear, and my sound skips even more.
With turbo I get over 900FPS, so I don't think it's a power issue
Strange framerate/sound issue?
Re: Strange framerate/sound issue?
the issue likely is trying to force 60 exact frames through a 59.94 vertical refresh.

Re: Strange framerate/sound issue?
Try different buffer length values, 16, 32, 48, 64, etc all the way up to 210ms. I use 112ms and it stops all the crackling on my end, so try each value if you want.

Set frame skip to 'auto' and try to modify sound settings in Preferences dialog.
