Hello all. I've been doing some research with vision convergence problems (sometimes the eyes can focus on the same object, or for example can't put the image of a bird in a cage together), and I was hoping to get some help.

What I've been doing is running two instances of SNES9x, and loading the same rom, but in the left window turning off the sprite layer, and in the right window turning off all background layers. Then putting a divider between the the two "screens," and so the left eye to left window and right to right, forcing a person to converge the images if they want to succeed at any platforming.

The problem is in the image above. Sometimes one of the "eyes" will go out of sync, and will then make these tests pretty much impossible (unless I reset and start over). A solution I was hoping for is to have one instance of SNES9x preform both left and right window functions, but I'm not even sure where to begin with this. I would appreciate any help with this.

You could try setting up local netplay, that should provide better sync than simply starting them at the same time.

Well the local netplay sort of worked. I able to do it with two computers, but when I tried on the same machine it would allow it. I've been able to run a LAN game with Borderlands opened twice on the same machine, but I'm guessing snes9x isn't cool with it. But my sync issues were fixed, so that's what really matters.

You could put the two machines side by side, or at least the monitors side by side. Good luck with your research!

What operating system are you using? 32 or 64bit? Version of Snes9x? Is the text at the bottom of the window white when you load the game?
These suggestions are usually the solution to your issue!

Haha. I was planning on doing that, until I took my glasses off and accidentally set both instances of SNES9x to "Act as Server." For some odd reason that made them connect on the same computer... and shazam! They're connected now. Maybe being semi-blind is a good thing sometimes.

So, if anyone ever needs to sync two copies, now you know.
