Xbox snes9x xbox In game saves not working

Hello there,

I am new to this, I recently softmodded my original Xbox.

Ive been playing a few games now on it with snes9x and am enjoying it. However, when I reload the game my saves are not showing up. Also I cannot find a way to save the game state with the emulator instead of the game itself.

click on the right stick and click save current state or something like that.
