Stuck Buttons/Commands(Macintosh User)

I have downloaded multiple versions of Snes9x, and have had the same problem with each of them. The directional buttons seem to be stuck on one direction, and playing any of my ROMs is a hassle. Its definately not my computer, because my directional buttons dont move on their own outside 9x. Ive done nothing to try to hack into or manipulate the program or ROMs in anyway, it just started happening by itself after working fine for a short time after I downloaded it. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
