I just mute the Emulator altogether in that case.

What operating system are you using? 32 or 64bit? Version of Snes9x? Is the text at the bottom of the window white when you load the game?
These suggestions are usually the solution to your issue!

Actually, quite a few power users love to check out the individual sound channel, myself included. Now would there be any easy way to do the channel toggling without affecting emulation (in other words, emulate the sound as usual, but don't let that channel be played)? Sorta like how you mute sound instead of turning it off to avoid emulation issues?
