Error loading game on Snes9x EX+

A few months ago, I tried to use Snes9x EX+ to play Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War, but it gave me an error when loading the game. Bio Worm works, so it shouldn't be my phone that is the problem. The file works perfectly fine on PC, and it's in .smc format, but it still doesn't work. I didn't have an sd card when I first installed snes9x, so i reinstalled it when I got one, thinking that might be the problem. It still didn't work. The game IS patched, so that might be the problem, but if so... I can't do anything about that. The only reason for it to not work from what I can see is that Snes9x EX+ simply isn't compatible with the game. If anyone knows how to fix this, your help would be very appreciated.

Snes9x EX is based on an old version and doesn’t have many fixes that we have made in the last decade.
