can we plz get a system that creates two copies of sram files or allows a system that creates multiple sram files....that way one that is used as a back up and the other used as the main sram file that snes9x uses....the backup of course not being updated from a /load state for a certain duration...and the main one of course..getting updated with the load states sram
that way if we accidentally load a state by oops we can still reset and have the back up sram to reverse to (with snes9x asking if we want to undo recent sram changes) before the game wipes the back up sram clean
like make the delay for backup sram changing..1-2 minutes..
its really frustrating to load a state..only to forget your sram gets changed to that of the load state..and lose alot of progress on a different file within the game as a result..
example
current sram for ff5 contains 3 save files for different playthroughs of the game..upon loading a state..the sram is changed to when the state was loaded..which only has 1 saved file
now the sram file only has one saved data due to the sram being changed to at the moment in time the save state was created..with no method to reverse the save file's sram back to before the save state was created
backup sram
Re: backup sram
From the readme:
When you load a state and have not saved for longer than 5 minutes it will automatically create a .oops savestate which can be used to restore the progress.Fool-Proof System
-----------------
If you quit the game by error without saving your long-time progress, try to
find '.oops' file in the same folder as freeze files. If it exists, try to load
it. It's a freeze file automatically generated if you don't save anything for a
long time.

That doesn't really help with his mentioned issue though.OV2 wrote:From the readme:

The SRAM gets overwritten whenever you load a save state with whatever SRAM was there when the state was created. So if he loaded an ancient save state by accident, it would also wipe his SRAM file, or at least contain a very old save from back then. I've had it happen to me before as well. Now I just make the decision of creating a save state -after- saving the game via the normal battery saves.
Re: backup sram
If you load the .oops file then that will also restore the SRAM.

how do u load the OOPS file...when attempting to load state it only gives option 1-9..no OOPS option in the load state menu
also why do u hafta wait 5 minutes..thats quite a duration..most people probably won't wanna wait that long
especially if they are in a panic
Re: backup sram
1.55 has a "Select File" option under "Load Game Position" - otherwise you can rename the .oops to .001 and load it that way.
You don't have to wait 5 minutes, that's just the minimum time between when oops files are created.
