Super Pinball II: The Amazing Odyssey not working in 1.54

This is a quick bug report but Super Pinball II: The Amazing Odyssey, Japanese only release. Doesn't work in Snes9x 1.54 or 1.54.1, the game crashes while loading in the pinball table to a black screen. The menus work and it takes you up to the control select but after that it crashes.
The game worked perfectly in 1.53 so it's a recent change that has caused this issue in Snes9x.
Just wanted to make the developers aware of this issue.
