Zip files convert to Snes9x ROM files

I'm having a big issue with zip files after removing Snes9x from my computer, every time I try to compress something into a zip file, or I download something that is in a compressed file, it just comes out as saying it's a Snes9x ROM file, I've searched everywhere and I can't find anything even remotely on the subject, and at the same time I've searched every single last file on it and nothing, I ran it initially on windows 8.1 before switching to 10.

shift+right click on zip file, choose "Open with > Choose another app." check the "always use" box to make the setting stick.
