Controller mappings different depending on # of controllers

Post by crono141 »

I am having an issue with Xbox360 gamepads. I have 3 wireless controllers under windows 8.1. When only one is connected, its buttons show up and map as J0. However, once I connect the other two, the first contoller now maps to J2, and the 3rd to J4, with the second controller as J0. Needless to say, this is a bit bothersome when trying to set up a frontend like gamestation.

I understand that all controllers need to be on and connected before the emulator is launched. The trouble is that what I map as player 1 won't be player 1 if player 2 is connected.

I'm sure that the true source of the issue is buried in Windows itself, as I have a similar issue with a different emulator. I was just hoping that folks here might have some insight and set me on the right path for fixing this issue. Thanks.
