Mac OS X: Certain sound effects destroy sound.

Post by Draexzhan »

I've been trying to play a friend's ROMhack of Super Mario World, but certain sound effects in the game cause rather outageous effects. Clappin' Chucks and Podoboos are the only ones so far that I've found cause this. Basically what happens, is the music will keep playing, but one track will turn into erratic and horrific buzzing and beeping. Then when I complete a level, all the music in the game is gone, and the beeping is pretty much all I hear. Sound effects don't seem to be affected by this, and it does not affect anything else on my computer. I've tried two other emulators, OpenEmu and ZSNES. OpenEmu gets this same problem, but ZSNES does not. ZSNES gets unrelated issues that make the game unplayable, so I'm pretty much out of options unless I can get something fixed.
