Buffalo SNES USB gamepad issue

Post by scratchpoint »

Hi there, first time poster long-time snes9x user. So, I've been using snes9x to play Final Fantasy IV Golbez Edition hack for my youtube LP, and for the past few weeks I was using my old microsoft sidewinder with no issues. I wanted a more authentic SNES feel though, so I bought the buffalo usb pad. After configuring the pad, I tried to load my save file, and the game was acting as though it was possessed. On the save select screen the cursor moves up and down automatically, basically making the game unplayable. So, I tried out other emulators, controller works without issue. I tried other games on snes9x, and the buffalo controller works without issue. Is it possible that it's just the hack that is fickle with this controller? If so, I'm a bit confused as to why the sidewinder continues to work fine with it. Does anyone have any ideas or possible explanations? Thanks in advance.
