Drakkhen freezing on third castle, need help!

Hello! I love SNES9X! I finally found a game on the SNES that I truly love, Drakkhen. This game is awesome. Sadly I can only get so far in the game. I enter the third castle that you go to, and the game freezes. I use save states a lot (I'm kinda addicted to it lol.) Well, I go into the third castle and use a save state, and the game freezes. I tried everything to get out of it but I can't. I also restarted the entire game and got up to that point again. This time I saved outside of the castle. Whenever I go in the screen glitches up and freezes. I'm not sure if this is SNES9X's fault or the ROM's fault. If it's the ROM's fault can someone please tell me how to fix this!? I played this game through twice now I don't want to do it again looking for another ROM or something like that. Thanks!
