Re: Save files not working?

where is snes9x located, and how did you launch it (e.g. by double-clicking on the .exe, or by double-clicking on a rom file and telling Windows to open it with snes9x)?

Re: FPS drops to what feels like 30fps seemingly randomly

that's a good reason!

if your monitor supports 59Hz modes, i've found that snes9x will do a marvelous job of running steadily without needing vsync. i generally run windowed, though - fullscreen sometimes adds a frame of lag on my setup (win10, geforce 9-series, HDTV via HDMI).

MMX definitely bogs down at times on real hardware - why are you sure it's not that?

Re: Question about battery in SFC/SNES games

  1. yes.
  2. n/a
  3. yes.
  4. complexity doesn't matter. the only thing that might matter is if the power usage differs in the type of SRAM used in that particular production run.

people, including the *nix dev, have lives outside of Snes9x and this forum.

all i can suggest is you try grabbing latest from source per the Debian thread.

Re: Installing snes9x on Debian

here's the important part:

Code: Select all

meson.build:29:0: ERROR: Dependency "sdl2" not found, tried pkgconfig and config-tool
Per the SDL Wiki, you can use the following on Debian (and related distros):

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libsdl2-2.0 libsdl2-dev
once that's done, run that Meson command again.

Re: Import saves from snes9x 1.60 to snes9x EX+

battery saves will have the filename romname .srm and are generally saved in the ROM directory for snes9x ex and in the defined save path for desktop snes9x. (search your computer for *.srm if you can't find them). they can be copied in the same manner you copied your games over. note that if the ga...

Re: Import saves from snes9x 1.60 to snes9x EX+

Based on the author's update page, snes9x EX+ is still based off of snes9x 1.55 - unfortunately, this means save states will not be cross-compatible.

Battery saves should work, though.
