Actually, I got the email, but I didn't bother to check the vids since it sounded like the issue was proven to be SNES mechanics and normal behavior, but I can still verify it the next chance I get (I still have the stuff). From what you described and I had mentioned, the Ganon fight is also laggy, ...

Hey, I checked the vids. That is normal behavior. indeed, the sparkles from the Magic Boomerang and Silver Arrows add at least 1 sprite (maybe each sparkle is even a sprite), and that is enough to cause such lag when enough enemies are already present. Don't worry-1.5x seems to be running okay for y...

I am unable to watch teh videos at the moment, but having replayed the game, I cans ay that the lag you experienced in the earlier room in Ganon's tower IS NORMAL. I got the same results. It can happen in some other areas, and is clearly related to the too-much-stuff on the screen issue. Also note t...

You could either record video clips for Youtube comparing them, or you could send me the 1.43 save state, and I'll see what it does on mine. I'll PM you my email address if you decide to do the other.

I don't know anything about the game, but given the issue you have with the enemies, I think you'd have better luck getting this answered at romhacking.net. While you're not quite hacking at the code level, what you're doing would best be helped by such people with the inner knowledge of stuff like ...

The slowdowns, especially since they're area specific, would likely be related to the too-many-sprites issue, but that effect on the arrow seems severe. Although perhaps the starry effect could contribute to the too many sprites thingy, I don't recall it being an issue with that arrow, either. Do yo...

Silent Service existed before the NES? Wow. I oughtta fire it up on an Apple emulator, which reminds me, that I haven't got to play the Apple Maniac Mansion yet, or completed one of my videos for the NES I meant to get finished. I'll have to wrap that up...

Sony stops making floppy disks

http://news.yahoo.com/s/zd/20100426/tc_zd/250362 I still have some 5.25s that I failed to rescue the data from before giving away the computer that could read them, so now I have stranded data, the likes of which I don't even know is needed or not. I also have plenty of 3.5s, and I still have a fair...

Also note the differences-when you save in-game, you load it just the way you would on the console, with whatever good/bad effects come from that method. When you use save states, you save your progress instantly, and upon loading, will reappear right where you were instantly. This is useful when yo...

I believe what you want is AVI recording. Start playing back the SMV movie file, and as soon as you do, open the file menu and select the record AVI option. In the box that pops up, that format you request should be one of the recordable formats available (unless you need to first install a proper c...

Mods, this should also go in tech support. As for the issue, I had no idea it could even work with memory cards, but camera memory cards seem like a very bizarre media for this sort of thing. Would you maybe consider flash drives? That just seems better on many levels, but then again, I don't know w...

Er, I should specify playing with the emulator's output rate, not your monitor's physical output rate. In the emulator's options, should be video options, which show the virtual Frames Per Second (you want 60, or at least a high enough number). Numbers below, especially combined with the other sympt...

Another thing is that zome games like that are a bit more CPU intensive. Other issues with accelerators can mess with that, but that sounds mostly like a video issue. Try playing with video settings and see if you can get a faster refresh rate.

I never played a single FF game, either. I know of the series, but I never had the time, and, far worse, the crap that was mentioned here. I don't want to play a few random versions out of a series. I want to play the whole series. The crap Nintendo did to the US population is unacceptible and a maj...

Yeah, having used emus like Nesticle, I must say I'm in favor of the shift+Fkey to save, and plain Fkey to load. You can easily overwrite with the F5/7 thingy when you're in a hurry. It sucks that there never was an official emulator standard, but this method seems best. In fact, I think FCE Ultra e...
