I think the biggest turn-off to all of them was that they always start out with nothing but a 'hello-world' example. I think you're missing the purpose of 'hello world' tutorials. They aren't meant to teach you how to program - they're meant to ensure that you have the development environment set u...

As a result of big improvements of timings, some games which worked wrongly in previous versions have begun to get some problems. I'm not sure yet whether that's the case or not for this game though. That's probably the case here, yes. Umihara does funky things with the water at the bottom of the m...

Unless I'm mistaken, Cocoa is accessed with Objective C, which is a superset of C and C++. That means if you want to code for OSX, you'll need to learn C anyways. It's a harsh language for beginners, but it gives you a solid understanding of how a lot of the underpinnings of programs work. I'd say y...

The big question isn't whether or not HTC Sense is removed - it's whether or not the bluetooth stack has been re-implemented to get around the issues HTC Sense has with it. It's possible removing HTC Sense gives programs more direct access to bluetooth, but until you give it a try, you won't know. S...

Yup, the app store download works great - no need to root the phone, and you can browse the contents of the phone's filesystem to find the ROMs anywhere. The saves, I believe, will be put in the same directory as the loaded ROM. I'm pretty sure any odd GPU issues with SNES9x have been smoothed out f...

I try to avoid fullscreen 'cause it screws with my screen layout. I can give it a try though. doot de doot de doo... ---- In windowed mode, there's a noticeable difference between VSync being on and off. With it on, it's perfectly smooth, no tearing, no noticeable jittering (I'm testing on Road Runn...

Yeah, at this point I think I'm just going to throw my hands in the air and blame your graphics card. Incidentally, triple-buffering only works if you have it set to fullscreen, so that's no big surprise. What's really bugging me is that vsync doesn't seem to be working. Except with triple-buffering...

What happens if you just use vsync and leave off triple buffering? That should at least get rid of the tearing, though I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of a stutter. I could see your graphics chip causing some trouble with large screen sizes; the Intel graphics chipsets aren't exactly high p...

fixed-pixel displays usually have square pixels. examples include LCD TVs, plasma TVs, and LCD monitors. CRT-based displays (your big old tube TV/monitor) have variable-sized pixels. I stand corrected then! Thanks for the addendum. As for the OpenGL issue, I don't know how good the OpenGL support i...

At least SNES9x-rr states right on the front page that SNES9x itself has a different license. I think the license listing on the left pane of Google Code's page is listed as GPL primarily out of ignorance. The authors are likely intending to release -their- contributions as GPL or LGPL... but by inc...

I see that there are two options there: Maintain Aspect Ratio and Stretch Image. When I deselect Stretch Image, Maintain Aspect Ratio becomes greyed out. When this option is greyed out, switching between 4:3 and 8:7 does nothing to the image. It is only when I select Stretch in addition to Maintain...

Okay, now I'm wondering if it's an issue with the refresh rate on a PC not matching up with NTSC format. It's still a bit bizarre, since not all PCs have the problem... I'm almost inclined to ask the main dev team if it's possible to thread out the graphics rendering so it's completely separate from...
