Re: Controller settings not saved in Japanese
Hi, if I execute snes9x-gtk on Japanese Linux environment, the controller settings are not saved. If I run it like $ LANG=C snes9x-gtk then, the settings are saved, but, if I run it in Japanese, the saved settings disappear. This is now fixed in git. The problem is it was translating the controller...

Re: Selecting an Audio Device to output to
The issue is still open. What was closed was another issue that wanted to apply tags to that one. I think you can redirect the audio using the Windows mixer, but I’m not sure what version or drivers that applies to.

Re: Game Save Problems...
Snes9x’s save states also save and restore the in-game battery saves. That means when you load a save state with Snes9x, it’s going to set the in-game saves to the ones the game was keeping track of at the time you made the save state. It’s best not to mix the two types unless you’re careful.

Re: Default Enable Mouse from command line?
This is fixed in git. The -port1/2 option should work. I still think the mouse is funky. I'll see if I can warp it in fullscreen mode.

Re: Default Enable Mouse from command line?
The command line parameters are for the barebones Unix version only. I’ll have to add support for those. As an aside, mouse support isn’t very good in the Gtk port right now because it can’t lock the mouse to the window. I think that would frustrate your kids.

Take the last version posted above and change the 1.55 to 1.56.2 in the two places and change the file extension from bz2 to gz

Re: Chrono Trigger loading savefile issue
Is the file named exactly the same as the rom image bar the extension? Otherwise Snes9x may be configured to load sram from a different location, like the same folder as the game.

Re: Wireless Xbox One gamepad
The controller is recognized as different controllers based on the way it's plugged in. This is because it reports a different GUID over USB than over Wireless. While other programs may be fine with any controller that happens to be plugged in, Snes9x has to discriminate in case of multiple controll...

Try configure with --without-system-zip maybe?
Edit: Apparently, the ubuntu packages you need are libminizip1 and libminizip-dev.

Re: Snes9x 1.55
You need the -dev versions of the packages, too, for Debian based distros. Search google for “compiling Snes9x on Ubuntu,†and someone has found the required packages.

Not familiar with flatpak’s directory structure, but the file will be called snes9x.xml.

Recent Linux has changed the enumeration of joystick devices and SDL 1 has trouble finding them. I’ve already changed to SDL 2 for the next release.

Re: Shaders question
Our shader support is a bit dated. The Windows port can use the Cg versions of those shaders, but the GTK+ version is still stuck with the original bsnes xml format. I plan to eventually implement the glslp format, but I’ve not got around to it yet. The format has some pseudo-configurable options ...

Re: How To Use Switch Pro Con with Emulator (via Bluetooth)
Our Mac port maintainer left us, and the latest release was done by some kind soul. Aside from general advice, you'll have to find someone with knowledge of the Mac port. I can suggest making sure the controller works in other apps, then in Snes9x choosing configure controllers from the config menu....

Re: GTK Version Fails; Plain Snes9x Does Not (BS-X/Satellavi
I was able to get Fire Emblem to run on GTK+. All I needed was to have the BS-X.bios file in the same directory as the ROM image. I don't have a version of BS Zelda like you specify.

when testing out Kirby Super Star it seems to still be having slow down on the video when the 3D intro moves when it is rotated, so it's delayed compared to the audio. Same thing happens in Super Mario RPG to the intro when the butterflys fly away from Peach. Is there anyway to fix this? Because th...

It works currently. It is the only APU timing hack game left, and that might change if we decide to remove the timing hack code, since it's used for just that game.Stillmatic wrote:Do you know what problems 'Rendering Ranger R2' has on Snes9x? Is the game impossible to complete?

Re: Max Frames, Slow Gameplay
It's possible the SA1 isn't being synchronized with the S-CPU properly, making it slower than it should be. This would have to be looked into, it's nothing wrong with your computer or configuration.

Re: Snes9x 1.54
I'm also looking at releasing a 1.54.1 version in the near future because of the problems with both the Windows and GTK+ versions. can you provide a list of known issues? this would help users decide whether it's better for a given case to use 1.54 or a previous build. 1.54.1 is just a port bugfix ...
