Re: How do I play 'BS The Legend of Zelda: Third Quest' ?

the original game (NES/FDS) requires you to use the select button on the menu screen; it wouldn't surprise me if this game is the same.

Re: Snes9x 1.60 x64 Shutting down as soon as opneed

first, there's no need to change any compatibility settings for snes9x 1.60 under Win10 - so i would undo any changes you made there. second, are you getting any error messages, or is Snes9x just closing silently? if it's closing silently - you didn't accidentally configure a hotkey for "Quit S...

the default hotkey for "Show pressed keys" is ',' (comma). this can be found on page one of Hotkey Customization (Input -> Customize Hotkeys..).

Re: win32 - vs2017 solution - gtk_cheat edit?

as you've realized, gtk isn't used for windows - only linux.

unfortunately, i can't help you with your actual question. i'd recommend cutting a feature request issue in github (see your other post).

Re: Why does framerate randomly drop every minute or so?

sounds like a background app causing issues. try running windowed with Task Manager up and look for any spikes in other processes when you see the framerate dip.

Re: Can't get past opening menu in Final Fantasy 6

a few questions:
  1. does snes9x have input focus (is it the selected foreground program)?
  2. is Steam (or any other program that can grab input) running in the background?
  3. did you accidentally clear the "Enabled" checkbox for Joypad 1 in Input Configuration?

Re: [HELP] multiple D-Pad buttons at once not working?

you need to map the diagonals explicitly if snes9x isn't reading them (it's in the same dialog used for mapping the cardinal directions and the buttons).

this most commonly happens for controls which are considered hat switches (such as the D-pad on a DualShock 4).

you're better off using RetroArch with the Snes9x core for netplay.

Demon's Crest regularly lags on real hardware - I wouldn't be so sure it's the emulator.

Re: Steam Steelseries controller issues

if snes9x is open when you reconnect the controller, it won't see it. another program (like Steam) might be grabbing inputs - try making sure no other programs that respond to the controller are open. i've confirmed the latter is the case with a Dualshock 4 connected via Bluetooth - if Steam is ope...

seriously?

you didn't even wait for an hour for a response?

you need to learn patience - it'll help you in social interactions as well as debugging issues when trying to build.
